Creating music with a positive, safety-oriented message
Aimed at younger audiences, particularly soldiers, their work combines rap and hip-hop with themes like drinking and driving prevention, motorcycle safety, suicide prevention, and sexual harassment/assault awareness, often in collaboration with the U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center (CRC).
Wordz N Vizion WAV Artists received recognition for increasing site visibility to the Combat Readiness Center by Providing 12 hip-hop style safety videos. This was the 1st time ever the US Army Combat Readiness Center has used this type of creativity to reach Soldiers ranging from 18 to 34. There creative efforts has also affected the numbers by lowering fatalities 2 years in a row for FY24 and FY25. These Artist also received Coins for the Safety Center and the Sergeant Major of the Army. Each video was branded with the Safety Center’s and US Army’s motto.
The first significant collaboration between rap artists and the U.S. Army for safety promotion began with Wordz N Vizion WAV, a group comprising Soldiers and civilians. This initiative started around mid-2021, marking a novel approach to engage military personnel through hip-hop and rap music.
The group’s mission goes beyond music, emphasizing impactful messages to save lives and influence generations, as highlighted in their slogan, “It’s Bigger Than Us!”
They produce audio, video, and print media, and sell apparel like shirts and hoodies. Their music is available on all streaming platforms and they maintain an active online presence through their website, Instagram (@wordznvizion), and Facebook, where they share safety-themed songs like “Safety Swagger Remix” and “Do That Safety.”
Wordz N Vizion WAV began collaborating with the CRC in 2021, using innovative approaches to reduce mishaps and fatalities in the Army. Their videos have increased traffic to the CRC’s website and social media, targeting the 18-24 age group
